Having Faith

Sometimes the hardest part of faith is holding onto what God showed you while standing in a reality that looks nothing like it.

In those moments, it’s easy to wonder:“Did I hear God wrong?”“Did I miss something?”“Was that promise even real?”

But throughout Scripture, there were long stretches where the promise and the current storyline didn’t match at all.

Joseph was shown leadership and influence, yet his reality became betrayal, slavery, and prison before the promise unfolded.

David was anointed king while still hiding in caves and running for his life.

Abraham received a promise long before he ever held the fulfillment in his hands.

Sometimes God shows you the destination, but not every painful chapter in between.

That doesn’t mean you force something to happen. It doesn’t mean you ignore wisdom or red flags either. But it does mean learning how to stay surrendered when you don’t understand the timing, the process, or the silence.

A few things to hold onto in seasons like this:

• Don’t build your faith only on prophecy, stay rooted in God Himself.

• Ask God for clarity, not just confirmation.

• Pay attention to His current instructions, not only past words.

• Allow room for pruning, detours, and growth.

• Remember that delay and contradiction are not always denial.

And sometimes… the promise is still alive, but God is changing you before He changes the situation.
